AAHOA statement on the Georgia special election

WASHINGTON, June 20, 2017 – Asian American Hotel Owners Association President and CEO Chip Rogers released the following statement regarding the Georgia special election in the 6th Congressional District:

“Congratulations to Karen Handel on her hard-fought win tonight in the most expensive U.S. House race in history. As the home of AAHOA’s headquarters is near Perimeter Center in Atlanta, AAHOA has always enjoyed a unique relationship with the representative from the 6th Congressional District of Georgia and we look forward to building the same with Representative-Elect Handel. We are very grateful to both candidates for running to make America a better place to live and work.”

Note: Former Georgia Republican secretary of state Karen Handel defeated former Democratic House staffer Jon Ossoff, according to the Associated Press call of the race. Handel replaces former Republican Rep. Tom Price, who is now the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
