Dipak and Rita Patel celebrate grand re-opening in Ocala, Florida

Dipak and Rita Patel, successful franchisees for 11 years, hosted Red Roof executives a few weeks ago during their official grand re-opening of their Red Roof Inn in Ocala, Florida.

After suffering a devastating flood in 2014, they’re relieved to finally have their hotel back. On May 15, 2014, the hotel was completely flooded after a sprinkler system main pipe burst on the second floor of the property. With extensive renovations (totaling over $1 million), determination and a resurrection of the property over the past 1.5 years, their property now features the best Red Roof Inn has to offer.

The 63-room hotel now features the very latest of Red Roof Inn upgrades and accoutrements, including vinyl wood floors, flat-screen TVs, vessel sinks and no lamps (it’s all recessed lighting now, Rita Patel said).

“We all knew [the Patels]were doing a real high-class, high-quality renovation,” said Andrew Alexander, Red Roof President, in an article written by the Ocala Star Banner. “They are really great people.”

Dipak Patel serves on Red Roof’s Franchise Advisory Council, and Rita, his wife, will serve on the chain’s new women’s forum, which debuts this fall.
