Asian American Hotel Owners Association President and CEO Chip Rogers released the following statement regarding the permanent blocking of the U.S. Department of Labor’s persuader rule:
“From the very beginning, the persuader rule was meant to rig the system against small business owners, and we applaud that the rule has been permanently blocked by the court. All small business owners want to do is consult with legal experts on the complex subject of labor law — made more complex and confusing by the Labor Department itself — so they can get back to growing their business and creating jobs. But the rule said they needed to report such activity to the government, which will have an undeniable chilling effect. This ruling is a win for small business owners.”
Founded in 1989, AAHOA (www.aahoa.com) is the largest hotel owners association in the world, with more than 15,000 small business owner-members. AAHOA members own almost one in every two hotels in the United States.
