WASHINGTON – The Asian American Hotel Owners Association applauded the confirmation of Rep. Tom Price (R, Georgia) as the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Price, an orthopedic surgeon, has represented the 6th District of Georgia since 2005, which is home to the AAHOA national headquarters.

AAHOA President and CEO Chip Rogers offered the following comments regarding Price’s confirmation:

“AAHOA has had a special relationship with Secretary Price as our hometown Congressman. We represent hotel owners from all over the country, but the 6th District of Georgia has always been our home-base. More importantly, we know that Secretary Price will lead the way on common-sense health reform that small business owners desperately need. For our members, rising premiums and decreased choices for insurance has stifled growth and hampered their ability to recruit employees. Secretary Price’s leadership as the head of HHS will be critical to the process of replacing the Affordable Care Act.”

Founded in 1989, AAHOA (www.aahoa.com) is the largest hotel owners association in the world, with more than 16,000 small business owner-members. AAHOA members own almost one in every two hotels in the United States.
