WASHINGTON – Chip Rogers, president and CEO of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association, released the following statement regarding the Kansas shooting that killed one Indian man and wounded another in a targeted attack:

“The senseless taking of innocent life should be troubling to all Americans, especially when it is apparently done out of ignorance and misplaced fear. Our members are particularly alarmed by killings which involve Indian nationals simply pursuing the American dream. We hope the perpetrators are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law so as to send a clear message that hate will never be condoned and America remains the most welcoming nation on earth.”

Founded in 1989, AAHOA (www.aahoa.com) is the largest hotel owners association in the world, with more than 16,000 small business owner-members. AAHOA members own almost one in every two hotels in the United States.
