WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 9—AAHOA President and CEO Chip Rogers released the following
statement today in response to the House Ways and Means Committee passage of H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts
and Jobs Act.

“We appreciate the dedicated efforts of Chairman Brady and the House Ways and Means Committee in
moving forward with much-needed reform of our nation’s tax code. The committee passage of H.R. 1
brings us one step closer to a tax code that fosters job creation, values entrepreneurship and promotes
economic growth,” Rogers said.

“The provisions of this bill, including tax cuts for small business, preserving like-kind exchanges, and
allowing for immediate expensing of business investments, are exactly what small businesses need to
grow. The reform will present hoteliers with the opportunity to raise wages, hire new employees, renovate
buildings, develop new properties, and fully unleash their economic power to invest in their local
communities.”
