AAHOA Commends House on Introduction of Critical Tax Reform Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 3— AAHOA president and CEO Chip Rogers released the
following statement today in response to the introduction of H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“We commend President Trump, Speaker Ryan and Chairman Brady for their relentless
determination in bringing this legislation forward. Hoteliers have endured the crushing
burden of continually increasing tax obligations for the past three decades. The “Tax
Cuts and Jobs Act,” finally presents a critical opportunity to promote economic growth
and foster job creation by substantially reforming the tax code. The hallmark of this bill
provides tax relief to middle class families and small businesses, which will directly
benefit hotel owners, their employees, and their guests.

Hoteliers are eager to put this tax cut to work and ignite local economies across the country.
Cutting taxes on small business owners will encourage investment in employees, and cultivate
business development and expansion.

Additionally, the bill promises a simpler system for filing and compliance. Savings on
accounting and legal professionals will provide another opportunity for hoteliers to reinvest
revenues into their businesses.

Last week, 250 AAHOA members came to Capitol Hill to encourage their elected officials to
support tax reform. AAHOA renewed that call today and continues to urge every House member
to stand with America’s job creators and support H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
