AAHOA Member Jay H. Shah of Hersha Hospitality was named Hotelier of the World by 2018 HOTELS Magazine. Shah was presented with the award at a reception held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Shah was recognized as a member of the hospitality industry who has defined standards of service, delivered astounding operational excellence and performance, exhibited innovation in management, and maintained involvement in the greater good of the community.
Shah is the first person from Philadelphia to be honored with the title of Hotelier of the World and contributes to elevating Philadelphia’s city profile with an international recognition. He was esteemed with this attribution and commented:
“It is a privilege to accept this honor on behalf of our teams. This award was won by our associates and belongs to them.”
Inspired by his family, Shah works side-by-side with his brother and COO Neil H. Shah as they continue to grow the legacy of their parents Hasu and Hersha Shah. They value their associates and the importance of providing personal growth, respecting others’ views, and investing in their employees.
