AAHOA Announces Keynote Speakers and Entertainment for 2019 Convention & Trade Show

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Apr. 23 – AAHOA announced the list of keynote speakers and entertainers who will be appearing at the 2019 AAHOA Convention & Trade Show at the San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, Calif.

The convention, marking the association’s 30th anniversary, is projected to attract more than 8,100 hoteliers and hospitality-industry professionals for world-class educational sessions, a nearly 800 booth trade show floor, and on-site conferences for women hoteliers, independent hoteliers, and young professional hoteliers.

This year’s featured speakers include luminaries from the fields of government, education, and the business world. Khan Academy founder Sal Khan, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, Mike Abrashoff, and Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney will take to the stage to share their perspectives on and experiences in work and life.

“As we mark AAHOA’s 30th anniversary, we are fortunate to have innovators and thought leaders such as Sal Khan, Carly Fiorina, Mike Abrashoff, and Mick Mulvaney address our convention,” said Interim President and CEO Rachel Humphrey. “At every convention, we strive to provide our members with speakers drawn from a diverse and insightful group of accomplished leaders, and this year is no exception.”

On Friday evening, international superstar Sonu Nigam will make a slight detour from the American leg of his world tour to perform an exclusive show for AAHOA conventioneers. Joining him on stage will be his longtime friend Jonita Gandhi. Nigam will replace Atif Aslam, who was originally slated to perform, after his promoter notified AAHOA that he unable to attend. On Saturday evening, Ayushmann Khurrana and Monali Thakur will perform.

“We could not be more excited to add Sonu to our lineup,” Said Jagruti Panwala, AAHOA Vice Chairwoman and Convention Committee Chairwoman. “He is one of the most amazing and influential artists of our time, and I know our members will be thrilled by the show,” Panwala added.

“While we are disappointed Atif will not be able to make it this year, we are delighted to welcome Sonu to AAHOACON. We know his performance will be one of the highlights of our anniversary celebration,” said AAHOA Chairman Hitesh (HP) Patel.
