The fifth Hotel Indigo to open this year, the Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown, opened earlier this fall near the University of Alabama and the city’s vibrant entertainment district.

The 91-room hotel is the Tuscaloosa’s first riverfront hotel and the first Hotel Indigo property in the state of Alabama. On Wednesday, September 21, the hotel hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to give the community a glimpse of what the newly opened hotel has to offer.

Tuscaloosa Mayor, Walter Maddox, was in attendance as were representatives from the ownership group, Chance Partners, LLC.

Nestled on the banks of the Black Warrior River, Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown creates a personalized experience with distinctive design and amenities expressing the history and culture of the area. The hotel is ideally located, providing easy access to the University of Alabama campus and the vibrant downtown entertainment district.

The new hotel is uniquely designed to reflect the culture, character and history of the surrounding neighborhood. Guests can relax in spacious guest rooms featuring modern furnishings with twists of bold color – steel grays, navy blue and vivid green – inspired by the adjacent Black Warrior River.

Debuting The Lookout, an upscale rooftop bar, Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown greets guests with a craft cocktail menu, local distillery options and light fare. Dining is inspired by Southern culture at the on-site restaurant, Shoal’s Kitchen. Serving breakfast and dinner, Shoal’s Kitchen has partnered with local vendors including Snow’s Bend Farms, Southfresh Farms and Heritage House Coffee & Tea, among others, to offer a fresh, locally sourced menu. Specialty menu items include the Catfish and Hushpuppies, Tuscaloosa Poorboy and Chicken Ala Alabama. At Pure Provisions – a boutique gourmet shoppe within the hotel – neighbors and guests enjoy fresh sandwiches, decadent snacks and beverages.

Guests also have access to a 24-hour fitness center and approximately 1,000 square feet of executive meeting space, a business center and a 2,500 square foot outdoor terrace.

The Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown is owned by Chance Partners, LLC, and is managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
