AAHOA Statement on Bipartisan Budget Deal

AAHOA Interim President and CEO Rachel Humphrey issued the following statement in response to the bipartisan budget deal signed into law by President Trump: “After the longest government shutdown in American history earlier this year, America’s hoteliers are heartened by our lawmakers’ bipartisan agreement to keep our government open and operating. The shutdown cost the travel industry an estimated $100 million per day and thrust millions of small business owners, workers, and government employees into a state of uncertainty as their livelihoods were put on hold. A funded government is a sign of a functioning government, and we are optimistic that, despite their differences, our elected officials will continue to work together to continue serving the American people.”
