AAHOA Statement on Guidelines for Opening Up America Again

WASHINGTON, D.C., April 16 – AAHOA President & CEO Cecil P. Staton issued the following statement on the Trump administration’s Guidelines for Opening Up America Again:

“America’s hotel owners appreciate the President’s vision about transitioning towards normalcy during the post peak transmission stage and look forward to working with the administration, Congress, governors, and local officials to ensure a successful recovery. As a signal industry, America’s hotel owners were the first to feel the economic impact of COVID-19 as meetings, and events were cancelled, and they will likely be the last to recover as travel restrictions are lifted and economic recovery begins. However, we remain gravely concerned about whether many hotels can survive until we reach that point. It is imperative that Congress return to Wasington to address the shortages and inefficiencies in the CARES Act immediately. America’s hotel owners and their employees are depending on our leaders during this historic crisis.”
