ATLANTA, Ga., Sept. 25 – AAHOA’s 2020 Charlotte Charity Golf Tournament raised over $67,000 to benefit 11 local and national charities, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, USO of North Carolina, and Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage. This event was hosted outdoors August 1-2 at the Golf Club at Ballantyne with appropriate social distancing measures, masks, and other health and safety protocols in place.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is inflicting so much hardship on our communities and our nation. With the hospitality sector hit particularly hard, it is heartening to see so many hoteliers coming together to support so many worthy causes in our communities. I attended the tournament in Charlotte, and, after months of virtual events, it was truly a pleasure to see our AAHOA Members and industry partners enjoying a healthy dose of socially-distanced competition,” said AAHOA President & CEO Cecil P. Staton. “Even in difficult times, the generosity of our AAHOA Members shines through.”

AAHOA Members in Charlotte did exceptional work in organizing a successful event that was safe, fun, and a benefit to our community. Throughout the pandemic, countless AAHOA Members donated personal protective equipment, lodging, meals, and more to the members of our communities hit hardest by this crisis. Service is what we do, and I am honored to serve an association of compassionate hoteliers who continue to lift up those around them.”
