Palm Beach County is one of the few remaining localities left in Florida that has refused to grant preferential tax treatment to short-term rental marketplaces like Airbnb and Homeaway. Our local leaders are committed to ensuring transparency and fairness in tax collection amongst all lodging entities and businesses.
Being one of the few holdouts left, we were encouraged to see that a petition was filed earlier this month by the Asian American Hotel Operators Association (AAHOA) that challenges the Florida Department of Revenue’s “voluntary” tax agreement (VCA) with Airbnb.
